RACE WEEKEND That time of year has arrived again, the long awaited Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is back this November for an unforgettable racing weekend.
Starting on Friday 1st November, the weekend will offer five grandstands, three support race; GP2, GP3 and porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, and of course, four spectacular After Race concerts, all taking place at the Yas Marina circuit on Yas Island.
The annual event, which is now in it's 5th year, is one of the most prestigious sporting events in the Middle East, and is accessible to residents and tourists like in Abu Dhabi.
Thursday 31st October
The weekend will start with an After Race concert opened by three popular figures in the Arab world's music industry; Amr Diab, Elissa and Hussain Al Jassmi at Du Arena on Yas Island.
Friday 1st November
The event will start with practice sessions for all three support races before the GP2 qualifying session at 6.55pm. This will be followed by an After Race concert featuring US rap mogul, JAY Z.
Saturday 2nd November
The day will open with a GP3 practice session before the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup qualifying session at 10.55am, shortly followed by the GP2 first race at 12.15pm. Later in the afternoon at 3.30pm, the Prsche Mobil Supercup first race will take place. In the evening, the line-up will include a Formula 1 qualifying session, GP3 first race and an After Race concert opened by Muse.
Sunday 3rd November
The last day wil be packed with races and of course the highlight of the weekend, the 2013 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race, which will take place at 5pm and follow with a final and epic After Race concert opened by Depeche Mode.
