The 7th edition of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival

FILM It's that time of the year again; when the red carpet is laid out for international and regional film industry professionals descending upon the city.

ADFF returns for its 7th edition this year on the 24th of October for ten days. As with previous years, this year will present a unique schedule of events planned for the days of the festival. Although the Jury has yet to be officially announced, there will be 8 sections this year; Narrative features competition, new horizons competition, documentary feature competition, short film competition, Emirates film competition, showcase, our world and special programs.

The diverse and varied selection of films that will be screened during the festival include the Middle East premier of 'Philomena' starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan and based on a true story of an Irishwoman on the search for her son who was sold by Catholic nuns at the age of three. Other eagerly anticipated screenings include 'Rags and Tatters' by Ahmad Abdallah, 'Siddarth' by Richie Metha, 'Short Term 12' and more.  

The majority of the festival will take place at the Emirates Palace and Marina Mall. Tickets start from AED 20 , depending on screening times, days and the guests present. The announcement of further guests, the jury and screening line-ups are expected to be announced later in the week. 

The festival will start on the 24th October to 2nd November, 2013.
